What is a religion? According to its definition, it is belief in a god or gods. People will hold a lot of activities and they are connected with this belief. Usually, these activities take place in a church or in a temple. In the activities, people may pray or worship to ask their gods to fulfill their wishes.
Our family believes in Taoism. Strictly speaking, it is a variety of related Chinese philosophical and religious traditions and concepts. It also influenced East Asia for over 2000 years and some have spread internationally. That is to say, Taoism has never quite fit into the mold of a unified religion.
Taoists believe that man is a microcosm for the universe. The body ties directly into the Chinese five elements. The five organs correlate with the five elements, the five directions and the seasons. I am still quite young and know little about religions. But each time, my parents bring me to a temple. I will sincerely pray to gods what I wish for. And I believe gods listen to me, help me and protect me with their almighty power.
